Rocky Point does not currently have a major international airport for typical guest travel. The easiest option is usually flying into Phoenix and driving down.
Mexican vehicle insurance is required. US policies generally do not cover accidents in Mexico. You can buy daily coverage online or near the border before crossing.
Do not bring weapons, ammunition, vapes, narcotics, fireworks, pork, poultry, beef, or more than $10,000 in cash. Mexico treats weapon and ammunition violations very seriously.
Puerto Penasco, also known as Rocky Point, is the closest beach destination for many people in Arizona.
The resort accepts credit cards. Smaller restaurants may prefer cash. US dollars are commonly accepted, though pesos can offer a better exchange rate. Plan to keep some cash on hand for tips — tips are usually expected in cash, even when you pay the bill on a card.
You can navigate Rocky Point without being fluent. Many people in tourist areas speak some English, but Google Translate is useful and courteous.
